A small kennel that had been secluded in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota.  Where TimberSky and my logo got it's start. A change in life's path sent me on a move to Minnesota to purchase a business.   I miss the Black Hills and all it had to offer.   It is a beatufiful place, but very distant from a lot of things.   I have aquired some horses and love to ride the Harley  or the horses on  beautiful summer days.  Life in Minnesota is much different than Rapid City, but the dogs and myself are adjusting.

I've been actively showing dogs for over 20 years. I initially started with Siberian Huskies and was introduced to my first Akita in 1987. I have successfully owner handled 60 Akitas to their championship and acquired 3 Companion Dog titles to date. Including Multi-Best of Breeds even several over Specials and Group placing puppies. I have bred three  Best In Specialty Show Akitas and I have attained 9 Akitas their titles of Register of Merit to date. I have been an active member in the Rapid City Kennel Club (RCKC) for 17 years. Which included being breeder of the year for 9 years.   Member of the Rocky Mountain Akita Club (RMAC) for 10 years, and a member and former Regional Representative for the Akita Club of America (ACA).

TimberSky Akitas pedigrees include Champions of record (CH), Companion titled dogs (CD), Best In Show (BIS), Best In Specialty Show (BISS), and Register of Merit Akitas (ROM). Some  of the most impressive pedigrees in the breed today.

My accomplishments in this breed are great considering I do very little breeding 1 to 3 litters a year.  All puppies are raised in the house and both Conformation (show) as well as Companion (pet/non-breeding) puppies are available. Contracts with guarantees come with each puppy.  The contracts offer both myself and the new puppy buyer guarantees. Puppies have been shipped from my kennel all over the world as both show and pets. All parents have health certifications which include OFA's (Hip certified) and CERF's (eye certification). All our thyroids are normal without medication.

TimberSky Akitas are very well known for their outstanding temperaments which allow them to excel in obedience as well as making wonderful house dogs. My Akitas  have very large bone, correct large massive heads, and beautiful double coats. The Akita breed today lack in good structure and movement which is very important to proper physical condition and health.  My  Akitas are well known for their type and keeping with the standard and also maintaining good structure.
